So... Who Are The Lions?

As tryouts near (we hope you have registered!), all of us here at AFC Lancaster Lions wanted to answer some questions that we have been asked over the past few months regarding our first team. We hope this information helps everyone get to know a little bit more about us!

What level are the Lions?

AFC Lancaster Lions is currently a member of the US Premiership which is a league aimed towards Professional and Semi-professional teams. Here at the lions we pride ourselves in our professional environment, style of play, coaching, and character. We classify ourselves as professional for these reasons.

How long have the Lions been around?

AFC Lancaster Lions have been around for 5 seasons and have been growing from the first season.

Where do the Lions play?

AFC Lancaster Lions will be playing home games at Lancaster Catholic High School Stadium for the 2019 season!

When is the season?

The Lions will start our preseason in February with training and scrimmages until the start of the regular season in late March/early April. Our season will run until July with playoffs occurring from July until mid August.

Is there a cost to join?

There is a cost to tryout for the Lions. If you are selected then there will be no further cost associated.

What ages can join the Lions?

Our first team is open to any player of any age who the coaches view as having the ability to compete at the highest level with us and has the potential to grow to play at higher levels beyond the Lions.

What makes the Lions unique?

AFC Lancaster Lions are more than just a team. We are a part of our community. We are a club that is intertwined with its fans, neighbors, youth, and local businesses. Lions players are active in our community and with causes they feel are important to them.

How can I join?

You can attend one or both of our tryouts this year. November 24th and December 15th. These tryouts are open for anyone who thinks that they have what it takes to play for the Lions. You can click HERE to register. You can also sign up in person the day of tryouts and pay then. Cost is $30 for one day and $50 for both if you register online. Cost is $35 for one day and $55 for both days if you sign up in person the day of tryouts. And yes, shin guards are required.
