GBFC Tops AFC Lancaster Lions in Opening Match

Binghamton, NY - AFC Lancaster Lions kicked off their 2019 spring campaign with a 2-0 loss at Greater Binghamton FC. The match marked Coach Tamale's debut and saw his Lions squad put to the test against the former NPSL side GBFC.

The Lions saw a solid performance throughout much of the match holding posession at times and keeping pressure throughout the match giving the opposing side trouble. GBFC struck first midway through the first half to give the home side the lead at 1-0. The Lions fought to try and find the equalizer before half with some good chances that came shy of falling in our favor.

GBFC captitalized on an opportunity early into the second half to make it 2-0. The lions defense held GBFC scoreless the rest of the game while the offense threatened during the second half searching for the first goal of the season.

The lions will be back in action Saturday, 5/11 at home when we host Astoria Knights at 3pm! Come on out to support your Lions as we search for our first win of the season!
